We love the wines at Matthiasson; they are pure with integrity and excellent expression. 2018 has good structure and some moderate tannins, but with an underlying feeling of elegance and silkiness. Matthaisson always has a balance of fruit and terroir, and while this is all about the fruit, there is some nice minerality here. Gorgeous red fruits, floral notes, of bell pepper, and a bit of wild herbs. Village No. 2 is a blend of vineyards throughout Napa Valley, drawing on the different unique aspects of the valley. A lovely bottle again from Matthiasson and well worth the cost of entry.
