2022 Jean-Marie Fourrier Vigne Comte de Chapelle Bourgogne Vieille Vigne Rouge

The 2022 Vigne Comte de Chapelle Bourgogne Vieilles Vignes is a lovely Bourgogne Pinot Noir made under the Vigne Comte de Chapelle label that came under Jean-Marie Fourrier’s (Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin) direction in 2022 and is farmed and vinified with the same precision-minded philosophy associated with his domaine, including restrained élevage, partial whole-cluster use, and bottling without filtration. The 2022 Burgundy vintage shows the fruit and generosity of a warm year with the freshness, restraint, and terroir definition of a more classical season. Sourced from a parcel between Puligny and Merusault from 60-year-old vines, this shows a finely etched expression of Pinot Noir with red cherry, strawberry, soft spice, and floral lift, carried by silky tannins, lively acidity, and the kind of balance and clarity that make it feel far more serious than its appellation might suggest. A rare find here in the US, we currently have the only bottles at the same price as they're going for abroad. Don't miss it!

James Suckling 93 points! "This has a complex and pretty nose of red cherries, rosemary, spices and chocolate digestives. Tight and well framed on the palate, with a medium to full body and a fantastic structure for this appellation. Better from 2025."
