2025 Château de Trinquevedel Tavel

It has been years since we have offered the Tavel Rose from Château de Trinquevedel, but we are able to offer it today at this low pricing! This is exactly the kind of rosé that reminds you Tavel is not trying to be Provence. This is a darker, more vinous southern Rhône rosé from one of the historic family estates of the appellation, now run by Guillaume and Céline Demoulin, the fourth generation at a 32-hectare property farmed organically since the 2022 vintage. The wine comes from sandy Tavel soils with quartz pebbles and deep clay loam, and the blend is built around Grenache with support from Cinsault, Clairette, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Bourboulenc, giving it both red-fruited generosity and a firm mineral frame. The winemaking is very direct and traditional, with a short cold maceration, temperature-controlled fermentation, and aging in stainless steel, preserving freshness while allowing the wine to keep the color, grip, and savory depth that make Tavel unique. In the glass, the 2025 is deep pink in color, with ripe strawberry, red currant, blood orange, Provençal herbs, white pepper, and lovely finish. This is dry, structured, food-friendly, and closer in spirit to a chilled light red than a patio wine, with enough depth for grilled fish, charcuterie, roast chicken, spicy dishes, or even veal and olives. Tavel is one of the Rhône’s few rosé-only appellations, and Trinquevedel captures why the category has always had a more serious reputation than most pink wines, which is why it's always been one of our favorites. Perfect for the warmer days ahead, this is highly recommended!
