2014 Lamiable Cuvee Heliades Grand Cru Brut

The 2014 Lamiable Champagne Grand Cru Cuvée Héliades Brut Millésime is the domaine’s tête de cuvée and a true standout. Champagne Lamiable is a grower estate in the Grand Cru village of Tours-sur-Marne, founded in 1956 and currently run by a small family team: Ophélie crafts the wines and Arnaud farms the vines sustainably. The Cuvée Héliades is produced in exceptional vintages and is limited to 1,500 bottles per year, composed of 80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir, sourced exclusively from their Grand Cru sites. The wine undergoes vinification in oak and is aged on lees for 7 to 8 years before release. The style is reminiscent of Vilmart’s Coeur de Cuvée, showing the same precision and depth. It pours with a fine, persistent mousse and delivers layered notes of fresh apple, citrus, stone fruit, minerals, and nougat, balanced by a perfectly judged 5 g/L dosage. The finish is long and complex, marking this as a serious Champagne that is both approachable today and capable of further aging. With a retail price typically north of $100 and no other bottles available in the U.S., this is a rare opportunity to secure a Grand Cru grower Champagne of exceptional pedigree!
